History 

Starcom was created in 1991 by River Valley Telecommunications  Coop of Graettinger, IA. It was the company’s intention to provide an alternative to the high cost of satellites for rural customers who could not receive cable services to their homes. Over time, Starcom has expanded into wireless Internet services to keep up with the needs of the customers. Internet services are available in a 40-mile radius of our tower, which is located just south of Fairmont, MN. There is now a repeater antenna located in downtown Estherville. This antenna allows a more enhanced Internet service in the surrounding Estherville area.  In 2009 Starcom halted service for cable televison.  We continue to provide wireless high speed Internet to the surrounding area.
